For those of you who sent out your applications to get permits to go to the top of Mt. Whitney, they should be arriving soon if you got one. Ours just arrived in the mail yesterday so we are set to go. Mount Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet. I am extremely excited to be going this year. If anyone has any tips, please feel free to share! We have a day permit. The map above is from the Inyo National Forest website.
