Mars and Stars Returns to OC Parks

This looks like a fun event for free at both the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and Irvine Regional Park, especially given the Mars Science Laboratory Mission (Mars Curiosity Rover) is happening now!

Mars and Stars Returns to OC Parks
OC Parks Welcomes Mars and Stars: Mars Science Laboratory Mission Series with Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

OC Parks welcomes back NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for a series of educational public programs showcasing the Mars Science Laboratory Mission. OC Parks will host two special JPL events at different parks in September.

Guests can enjoy hiking under the night sky and participate in stargazing with Astronomy 4 You.

On Saturday, September 29, Mars and Stars will visit Irvine Regional Park from 6 to 9 p.m. JPL Deputy Project Scientist from the Mars Science Laboratory Mission, Dr. Ashwin Vasavada, will deliver a special educational presentation and showcase the Curiosity rover.
