Deer in Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

The last weekend of December 2012, I had the chance to go hiking to Dripping Cave, which is also known as Robbers Cave, in Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park with a group of buddies from work. While on the hike we encountered a heard of 6 deer and snagged a couple of quick pictures. It is always neat to see wildlife so close to the heavily urbanize population centers of Orange County. Here are some pictures of the deer as well as some of the beautiful scenery of Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park (right before it began to rain). For more information about the details and how to find this hike, click Here. This was the first time that we got the chance to see deer in the South Coast Wilderness. The South Coast Wilderness is approximately 20,000 acres in size and is fully capable of supporting a good deer population in addition to other animals. Bottom-line is always have your cameras ready as you never know what you will get the chance to see when you go hiking!
