OC PARKS Presents "World of Wolves" at Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

OC PARKS PRESENTS “WORLD OF WOLVES” FEBRUARY 8 AT PETER AND MARY MUTH INTERPRETIVE CENTER

(Newport Beach, Calif.) – Join OC Parks on Saturday, February 8 at The Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center at Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve to learn all about the “World of Wolves” from Skie Bender, Education Outreach Coordinator for Wolf Haven International. From folklore to movies, we will discover the truths about these magnificent canines.

“World of Wolves” is a fun and informative look at wolf behavior, biology and social pack structure. What do wolves eat and how often? Why are wolves important to the ecosystem? In this newly updated program, we will study close-up footage of Wolf Haven’s wolves howling, scent rolling and interacting with one another.

We will examine wolf, coyote, cougar, bobcat, grizzly bear and deer skulls and compare the difference between carnivores, omnivores and herbivores. This child-friendly presentation also includes hands-on activities with tracks and antlers.

Skie Bender is an Education Outreach Coordinator for Wolf Haven International, a nonprofit sanctuary for captive born wolves in Washington state.
