CARBON CANYON REGIONAL PARK LAKE HOSTS FIRST FREE KIDS’ FISHING DERBY MAY 9

(Brea, Calif.) – OC Parks, Sports Chalet and local fishing organization Team 57 are pleased to host the inaugural Kids’ Fishing Derby at the newly restored Carbon Canyon Regional Park Lake on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Children ages 15 and under will have the opportunity to fish for free during the Fishing Derby. The lake will be stocked with catfish and fishing experts will be on-site to assist the kids with their fishing skills.

Following the derby, a free hot dog lunch will be served, while supplies last, courtesy of Team 57 and all participating vendors. There will also be an opportunity drawing for kids to win prizes.

An adult must accompany all children at the event. Kids’ Fishing Derby will take place rain or shine. The event is free and parking is available for $5 per vehicle.
