Directions: ZZYZX Road is near the town of Baker, California off of Interstate 15, which is the lifeline between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Once you exit the interstate onto ZZYZX road, the hiking area begins at the end of the road. The road is bumpy at times because it is roughly paved. Certain sections of the road are dirt and a four-wheel drive vehicle could be necessary in wet conditions. However, outside of wet conditions, a two-wheel drive vehicle will be able to make the journey.

About the Hike: Near the California State University Desert Studies Center there is a 0.25-mile loop trail, the Lake Tuendae Loop Trail that has multiple exhibits along the trail reveal the rich cultural history of this oasis on the Mojave National Preserve's western boundary.
