Ashley Skalsky becomes a certified American Cetacean Society of Orange County Volunteer Naturalist

A special congratulations to Ashley Skalsky, who recently completed a course offered by the American Cetacean Society's Orange County Chapter and is now a volunteer naturalist. While it may not be known to those on our hiking blog, we had the opportunity to get a center console boat this past year and have been spending lots of time on the Pacific Ocean on the weekends, going out of Dana Point or Newport Beach Harbors.  In the past four months, we have seen thousands of common dolphins, humpback whales, blue whales, fin whales, gray whales, bottle-nose dolphins, Risso's dolphins, sea lions, sharks, and more.  We plan to get out and do some more hiking this year and explore more of the hiking trails on Catalina Island, but we also plan to spend a lot of time on the water and will work to share those experiences here as well.  Below are two videos from recent trips on the water that we posted to our YouTube Chanel.
