Ortega Highway Candy Store Grand Re-Opening

The weekend of Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12, the Candy Store will have its grand re-opening. They will have hamburgers and hot dogs available, live music, local artists who will be displaying their art work, crafts for kids, raffle baskets, and free homemade candy samples. The lunch and festivities begin at 12 on both days. There are several hiking options right near the Candy Store off of Ortega Highway. You can hike the short San Juan Loop Trail, the medium length Bear Canyon Loop, or the longer hike to Sitton Peak.

    Wow - I'm really glad to hear that it's reopening! Was Ms. Sanford able to renegotiate the lease or is the store under new ownership?

    I did Sitton Peak a few weekends ago and was surprised to see the Candy Store open. I went in to buy an Adventure Pass and the lady working was really helpful. She asked each customer where they were planning to hike and showed them on the map where to go. I was impressed.
