OC Parks and REI Animal Lecture Series

Here are a couple of events at Orange County's two local REI's that might be of interest if you are looking for things to do this summer that are educational, associated with hiking, and the outdoors.
OC Parks and REI in partnership are pleased to present an educational animal lecture series set to take place in REI stores across Orange County in July.
On Thursday, July 7 families and kids of all ages are invited to join OC Parks and Irvine Ranch Conservancy at the REI store in Huntington Beach at 7 p.m. for an Animal CSI program, teaching the various way ecologists track wildlife. Lecture topics include animal tracking, skull and bone identification, scatology, animal evidence, and observation in the natural world. Four animal “scenes” will be set up and participants will be asked to investigate what happened, what animal came first and predator and prey evidence.
The OC Zoo will be visiting the REI in Tustin on Wednesday, July 13 from 3 – 4 p.m. for an afternoon of activity and live animals. Come learn all about the reptiles, birds, and mammals that live right in your own backyard. The OC Zoo Animal Presentation is a great educational and fun family activity that all ages can enjoy.
Join OC Parks at an Orange County REI store in the month of July!
