CELEBRATING THE OC PARKS RANGER RESERVES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

(Orange, Calif.) – OC Zoo is pleased to present a special movie screening of “Zookeeper” on Friday, August 10. The free event is part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the OC Parks Ranger Reserve program.

OC Zoo will offer free admission to the zoo beginning at 5 p.m. on August 10. The Ranger Reserves will be stationed at various animal exhibits throughout the zoo. Craft activities for children will be offered throughout the evening. Zookeeper will screen outdoors under thestars starting at dusk, approximately 7:45p.m. It is suggested that families bring blankets or small chairs to enjoy the film.

Movie night at the OC Zoo is the final event in a series of activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Ranger Reserve program. The Ranger Reserves visited multiple parks and interacted with the community at special events May through August of 2012. The Orange County Board of Supervisors established the Ranger Reserves on May 5, 1987. RangerReserves assist OC Parks staff at special events, conduct interpretive programs and perform a variety of tasks for park operations.
