Bobcat in Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

Today one of our readers, Justin B., sent us two great pictures of a bobcat he saw while hiking in Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. It is always amazing to see wildlife in its natural setting despite being so close to the urban core of Orange County. It is estimated that between 30 and 50 bobcats roam the South Coast Wilderness. Bobcats can live more than ten years eating small mammals (mainly rabbits). If you are interested in learning more about the bobcat population in the South Coast Wilderness, make sure to check out one of our prior posts by clicking Here. Thanks Justin for sending us the pictures to share!

  1. Bobcats are so beautiful. I'm surprised it was just laying around. I would have thought it'd be more skittish.
