The Orange County Transportation Authority is having a Wilderness Preserve Guided Hike at the Ferber Ranch Wilderness Preserve in Trabuco Canyon on August 9, 2014. The Ferber Ranch Wilderness Preserve is a wilderness preserve set-a-side purchased with Measure M2's tax money. For those that do not known, Orange County voters in 2006 voted for an extension of the temporary half cent Orange County sales tax until 2041. The Ferber Ranch property is a 399-acre parcel located northwest of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita in Trabuco Canyon. Access to the property is from Trabuco Oak Road and Rose Canyon Road. The property features rolling terrain with elevations ranging from 1,120 - 1,650 feet above mean sea level.
